Polite and private, Talin prefers the company of nature to man as they commune with the northern landscapes of Eorzea in their own eclectic manner. Having grown up as an outsider in a foreign land, Talin finds it difficult to connect with people in general. As such, they can often be found traversing secluded lands by foot or canoe while avoiding major cities unless it is to restock supplies.Talin rejects most collective beliefs that seek to restrict, shame, or punish while rewarding the unquestioningly devout. As such, they do not hold much value in nationalistic identity or any allegiance to anyone but the lands they walk on. The only concept they abide by is the continuous flow of astral and umbral forces, seeking balance within themselves and their surroundings.Despite their isolationist and polished persona, there lies a rather lighthearted and easygoing personality with a simple and straightforward outlook on life. When they do choose to interact with people, they give their care quite freely, which often leads to them being taken advantage of. As such, Talin has closed themselves off to most, save for one. Bearing her unconditional love, she gifts her all without reservation for a former Maelstrom Sergeant, Nolz Kalagarakis... no matter how much it might kill her in the process.

Born to a Viis tribe in the Rak'tika Greatwood, Talin fled the woods with her family when the Light flood Norvrandt. Her mother and sisters did not survive, caught by the onslaught of Sin Eaters who made way one by one with each family member. She and her father managed to make it to the then-growing settlement that eventually flourished into the Crystarium. Talin has not gone back to her homelands since, nor has she seen the night sky in over 100 years.On the First, Talin is a reserved individual who has been a Crystarium Guard far longer than most of her colleagues. Despite this, she has no desire to move up the ranks or climb the ladder of her career. Talin became a Guard solely with the desire to push back the Flood of Light so that she can someday see the night sky again. Her interaction with others is non-existent at best, finding it difficult to open up to people without feeling overwhelmed. She keeps to herself primarily.

Talin is non-binary. As am I. I do my best to respect everyone's wonderful array of backgrounds.
